Talent Acquisition – Recruiter

Role:

Responsible for full-cycle recruitment proactively attracting, sourcing talent through multiple formats and channels, including participation in college career fairs; arranging interviews with hiring managers, following up on candidates throughout the entire selection process up to and including onboarding. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute the talent acquisition strategy; Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and selection criteria
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Prepare target-driven recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate social media/job boards/colleges and universities 
  • Source candidates through online channels, e.g. social platforms and professional networks
  • Screen candidates’ resumes and job applications
  • Develop customized interview questions to probe technical and personal competencies required 
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, technical and soft skills, experience and aptitudes
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule 
  • Obtain and conduct reference checks and backchecks
  • Organize candidate information gathered developed through interviews, reference checks and backchecks for review by HR management
  • Be the point of contact and maintain candidate relationships during the selection stage; Foster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates
  • Assist with onboarding new employees for full integration 
  • Support with special projects to enhance the overall recruiting process and candidate experience

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary Human Resource program 
  • Proven work experience as a Recruiter 
  • Must be tech savvy:  Have working knowledge of recruiting on social media, resume databases and professional networks
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods; Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Planning and Organizational skills
  • A keen understanding of the business and the various positions within the company
  • Sense of urgency
