Repair Technician


The Repair Technician will be responsible to diagnose and repair faulty devices to the passive component level as well as repair various models of printers. They will also be required to recommend and develop test systems for the Test Technicians. They will also perform quality checks on a random percentage of devices from the test area. They may be required to clean devices and package them for storage. They will be required to do data entry into the inventory system as well as track quality results. They may be required to assist with preparing and shipping product out to an authorized repair center. Other duties as required.


  • Lifting up to 30Kg
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Strong knowledge on Lexmark and Ricoh printers
  • Strong Knowledge of computer systems
  • General soldering skills
  • Repetitive motion
  • Capable of performing mechanical repairs
  • Very familiar with computer programs i.e. Microsoft Office
  • Experience developing test systems
  • Electronics Diploma


  • Experience in a computer repair environment
  • Experience with printer repairs
  • Experience in a Point of Sale repair environment
  • IPC Solder certification
  • Experience with Quality Assurance

Safety Requirements:

Personal Protective Equipment Training

All Personal Protective Equipment with the exception of CSA Approved Footwear is provided by BFG:

  • CSA Approved Footwear
  • Long pants (supplied by employee)
  • Safety Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Milwaukee Safety Knife

All of the required job specific safety training will be provided by BFG:

  • WHMIS 2015 
  • Ministry of Labour 4 Step H&S Awareness Training 

Employees must meet all of the above training requirements prior to being deployed or assigned projects.
